Qatar Airways A330-300 A7-AED, which has been under maintenance at Dublin since 19th June, positioned Dublin – Doha this afternoon as QR3252. The aircraft has been repainted from Large Logo/Large Oryx to Large Logo/Medium Oryx livery.

Qatar Airways B777-200LR A7-BBI Returns from Doha Maintenance, Has Tech Issue.

Qatar Airways Boeing 777-2DZLR A7-BBI, which has been under maintenance at Doha since 16th June, returned to service this morning operating QR416 Doha – Beirut. However the aircraft stopped the climb at 22,000 ft due to a technical issue, entered a hold to work checklists then returned to Doha for a safe landing. The aircraft was able to depart again after just under two hours on the ground.

Qatar Airways A320 A7-AHP Baku Technical Issue.

Qatar Airways A320SL A7-AHP arrived into Baku as QR247 from Doha (depart Doha 26th June) in the early hours of this morning. However the return QR248 was cancelled due to a technical issue. The aircraft was able to position Baku – Doha during the evening as QR3252.

Qatar Airways B777-300ER A7-BED Operates Q-Suites Inaugural.

Qatar Airways Boeing 777-3DZER A7-BED returned to service this morning operating QR7 Doha – London Heathrow. This was the first revenue flight operated with the new 42J/312Y configuration featuring the new Q-Suites Business Class.

British Airways Applies for Qatar Airways Wet Leases.

British Airways today submitted an application to the UK Civil Aviation Authority to wet lease nine Qatar Airways A320/A321 aircraft for the period 1st – 16th July 2017, and for additional undetermined periods up to a maximum of two months, to cover for potential disturbances caused by threatened industrial action by the Mixed Fleet cabin crew.

Qatar Airways B777-300ER A7-BED Positions from Zurich to Paris Air Show.

Qatar Airways Boeing 777-3DZER A7-BED, which has been under maintenance at Zurich since 24th April, positioned Zurich – Paris Le Bourget as QR3253 this morning for display at the Paris Air Show. The aircraft has been reconfigured from 42J/316Y to 42J/312Y and is the first aircraft to be fitted with Q-Suites Business Class.

Qatar Airways A320 A7-AHB arrived into Tbilisi in the early hours of this morning as QR255 from Doha, however the return QR256 was cancelled due to a technical issue. The aircraft was able to position Tbilisi – Doha late this evening as QR3252.

Qatar Airways B787-8 A7-BCC Kolkata Technical Issue.

Qatar Airways Boeing 787-8 A7-BCC arrived into Kolkata in the early hours of this morning after arriving as QR540 from Doha (depart Doha 12th June), however the return QR541 was cancelled due to a technical issue.

Qatar Airways A350-900 A7-ALE Operates Dublin Inaugural.

Qatar Airways commenced service on the Doha – Dublin route today with A350-900 A7-ALE operating the inaugural QR17/QR18 rotation. This was a one-off operation and the service will usually be operated by Boeing 787-8s.

Qatar Airways A320 A7-AHL operating QR650 Doha – Kathmandu diverted via Kolkata this evening due to weather at Kathmandu. As a result the return QR651 was delayed and crew did not have sufficient hours to reach Doha and therefore this service diverted via Muscat for a crew change.

Qatar Airways B777-300ER A7-BAV Doha Test Circuit.

Qatar Airways Boeing 777-3DZER A7-BAV, which has been under maintenance at Doha since 26th May, undertook a Doha – Doha test circuit as QR8305 this afternoon, routing north and flying circuits off the coast of Kuwait.

Qatar Airways B777-300ER A7-BAB QR774 Athens Diversion.

Qatar Airways Boeing 777-3DZER A7-BAB operating the Sao Paulo – Doha sector of the delayed QR774 Buenos Aires – Sao Paulo – Doha (depart Buenos Aires 6th May) diverted via Athens in the early hours of this morning. It is not clear whether this was due to fuel, crew or a medical emergency. Since the closure of Egyptian and Saudi Arabian airspace to Qatar Airways this flight has been routing north across Mauritania, Algeria, and Tunisia before heading acrosss Turkey and Iran to Doha.

Qatar Airways B777-300ER A7-BAG QR871 Muscat Diversion and Charter.

Qatar Airways Boeing 777-3DZER A7-BAG operating QR871 Shanghai Pudong – Doha with a 5 hour delay diverted via Muscat this morning for a crew change. The aircraft then operated a Doha – Muscat charter this afternoon as QR7463 before positioning Muscat – Doha as QR3464.

Qatar Airways Flight Suspensions.

As of today Qatar Airways has suspended all flights to Bahrain, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates due to the severing of displomatic ties with those nations and the closure of those nation’s airspace to Qatar Airways aircraft.

Airspace Closing to Qatar Airways.

Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates have announced that they are severing all diplomatic ties with Qatar and closing their airspace to Qatar Airways flights. This is scheduled to come into effect within 24-48 hours and could potentially decimate Qatar Aiways operations.
