Following yesterday’s technical issue Qatar Airways A330-200 A7-AFM operated yesterday’s delayed QR551 Casablanca – Tunis – Doha this morning as QR551D.
Qatar Airways Airbus A330-203 A7-AFM arrived into Casablanca early this morning as QR550 from Doha and Tunis however the return QR551 has been delayed overnight indicating a technical issue with the aircraft.
The following Qatar Airways rotations from Doha did not operate today:
QR126/QR127 Doha – Abu Dhabi
QR154/QR155 Doha – Bahrain.
Qatar Airways extended its Doha – Dar Es Salaam route from today to route Doha – Dar Es Salaam – Kilimanjaro. The QR544/QR545 rotation will extend to Kilimanjaro on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and the QR546/QR547 rotation will extend to Kilimanjaro on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
Today’s inaugural QR546/QR547 rotation through to Kilimanjaro was operated by Airbus A320 A7-AHW, the newest A320 in the Qatar Airways fleet, and received a traditional water cannon salute on arrival.
Qatar Airways Airbus A321 A7-ADW operated an extra Doha – Jeddah service as QR2604 early this morning, positioning back to Doha as QR3605.
Qatar Airways Boeing 777-3DZER A7-BAX positioned Paine Field – Portland as BOE888 this morning for painting.
Commencing 1st January 2013 Qatar Airways will increase service on the Doha – Oslo route from 5 x weekly to daily. Services will operate to the following schedule:
QR955 Doha 0125 – Oslo 0655 Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays
QR956 Oslo 1100 – Doha 1925 Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays.
QR953 Doha 0800 – Oslo 1330 Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Sundays
QR954 Oslo 1500 – Doha 2325 Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Sundays.
All flights will operate with Airbus A330-200s.
Qatar Airways Boeing 777-3DZER A7-BAX made its first flight from Paine Field today as BOE888.

Qatar Airways Airbus A330-303 A7-AEC, which has been under maintenance with Lufthansa Technic at Zurich since 6th July, positioned Zurich – Doha this evening as QR6062.
Qatar Airways Airbus A330-202 A7-AFP operating QR24 Frankfurt – Doha missed the Frankfurt departure curfew this evening and will operate the flight tomorrow morning as QR24A.
Qatar Airways Airbus A320 A7-AHP operated an extra Doha – Jeddah rotation early this morning as QR2602/QR3603.
Qatar Airways Airbus A320 A7-ADG operated an extra Doha – Jeddah rotation this afternoon as QR2764/QR3765.
Qatar Airways Airbus A320 A7-AHU operated an extra Doha – Jeddah rotation this morning as QR2600/QR2601.
Qatar Airways Airbus A320 A7-AHW entered service today operating the QR122/QR123 Doha – Abu Dhabi rotation.
Qatar Airways Airbus A320 A7-AHW was delivered today as QR3028 routing Finkenwerder – Doha. This brings the Airbus A320 fleet up to 30 aircraft.
Qatar Airways was again named World’s Best Airline in the annual SkyTrax awards.
The methodology behind these awards is not clear although it is published that airlines with ten rather than nine abreast Economy seating on Boeing 777s can be marked only with a maximum of Four Stars. It will be interesting to see whether the same holds true for airlines with nine rather than eight Economy abreast seating on Boeing 787s. Qatar Airways’ Boeing 78’s will feature nine abreast Economy seating.

Qatar Airways A330-300 A7-AEA, which has been under maintenance at Lufthansa Technic in Zurich since 17th June, positioned Zurich – Doha this evening as QR3062.
Qatar Airways A321 A7-ADW operated QR866 Doha – Moscow Domodedovo today however the return QR867 has been indefinitely delayed. It is unclear whether this is due to a technical or crewing issue.
Boeing 787-8 N10187, which will become Qatar Airways’ A7-BCB and which is in full Qatar Airways livery today, positioned Boeing Field – Farnborough today as BOE787 for display at the Farnborough Air Show.
Qatar Airways Boeing 777-2DZLR A7-BBI operated today’s inaugural QR900/QR901 Doha – Perth rotation. The new service means Qatar Airways now serve two Australian destinations; Melbourne and Perth.
The QR118/QR119 Doha – Dubai rotation did not operate today.
